Description:

This position provides ORPT students the opportunity to grow in their area of interest within the field of Outdoor Recreation, Parks, and Tourism. It is a great chance to help professors out with classes, field trips, risk management, and develop organizational skills.

Students may assist with classroom activities, provide transportation for field based activities, assist with equipment maintenance and organization, develop risk management and safety plans for activities, assist with grading.

This internship is part of the Fall 2026 Professional Internship Program. To be eligible for the program you must:

Responsibilities

  • Be enrolled as an SUU student during the course of the internship.
  • Have and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Be willing to work 10 to 20 hours per week.
  • Provide thoughtful responses in your application.

Qualifications:

Ideally, this is an ORPT major in their junior or senior year with a good combination of both interpersonal skills and technical skills. We are looking for a student who can commit to work both during the week as well as on occasional weekends, and will work around existing student schedules as much as possible.
